Tucked away in Oxford’s South Lamar Historic District, (10 min. walk to the Oxford Square) this unique property is nestled in the woods for privacy. The wrapped around deck is a great place for morning coffee or to just relax enjoying listening to the birds singing. (This property shares a parking court with it's 3 bedroom sister property, The John Marie House.

The Josephine House is a restored, 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. The single story home features a large private deck and 1,200 sq. feet of interior living space. The home offers an open living area with floor to ceiling windows, old ceiling beams and shiplap walls. The main living area has comfy seating for 6, 55 inch smart tv and original art.

The kitchen is a pleasure to work in with the island with seating for 4, granite counter tops, and full size stainless appliances. It is equipped with a Keurig coffee maker, nice selection of pots and pans, dinnerware, and eating utensils. A full size washer and dryer are located in the adjoining laundry room.

Each bedroom includes a king size bed, white bedding, 50 inch flat screen TV, and closet space.

Adjoining the primary bedroom is a tiled bathroom with a large walk-in shower. A second bath just off the main hallway, has a full size tub/shower. The 2nd bedroom is entered off of the main hallway and also has a private entry into the 2nd bath as well. Guests are provided with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hairdryer.

The Josephine House has off street, monitored parking for 3 vehicles.

House Rules

• Check-in 4:00 PM / Check-out 11:00PM

• Max occupancy: 4

• Minimum age of primary renter: 32 yrs

• Minimum age of guests: 15 yrs

• Absolutely no parties, gatherings or events allowed - strictly enforced.

• Absolutely no pets allowed

• No smoking shall be permitted on the Premises (including the porch)

• Children and young adults under the age of 25 shall not be permitted on the Premises unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent for the duration of the Term. The house is not childproof so 15 years is the minimum age allowed.

2024 Rates

• 2 night minimum stay

• Standard Rate $500 per weeknight night / 700 per night Thursday - Saturday

Please contact us for SPECIAL EVENT rates (Ole Miss football weekends, Ole Miss Baseball regional tournament, Ole Miss graduation, Double Decker Art Festival, Holidays -  $700 - $1800.00 per night)   

• Cleaning Fee : $120

• Damage Deposit: $500

• Tax Rate: 9%

A rental contract will be emailed to you to confirm a reservation and a copy of driver license is required.  50% of total fees is due at the time of the confirmation of the reservation, and the balance is due 4 weeks prior to the arrival date.   

We accept personal checks or payment through PayPal (account not required). 

Cancellation  -  (We strongly suggest that guest purchase CFAR - cancel for any reason travel insurance.)

• 100% refund less $250 if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.

• No refund if cancelled less than 60 days before arrival date.
